Removed Custom Content

A note on custom content: I meticulously went through and re-tagged all of the clothing and hair custom content that I downloaded, since I did not agree with the creators’ tags (and often, they were just incorrect). I recommend doing this yourself to suit your taste. It’s extremely easy, just a bit time-consuming, and if you do it as you go, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Without re-tagging, if you want a mod-lite game, I do not recommend getting CC clothing and hair, since incorrect tags can make it hard to filter and find what you want. They can also adversely affect genetics, since hair texture is inheritable in The Sims 4. I go through spells where I want CC clothes/hair and sometimes I don’t. This is what I use when I want it:

Hair

203 Updated Hairs by AHarris00Britney – This includes default replacements of hairs from a few different packs. You’ll need to go through and search for “replacement” and delete whichever ones you don’t want.

Toddler Hair by RavenSim – The in-game selection of toddler hair is very lacking, so these 20+ hairs from RavenSim are very welcome!

Clothing

Most CC Clothing Packs from AHarris00Britney and ArethaBeezus

First Fit Kit Add-On #1 and #2 by AdrienPastel – Makes the First Fit Kit clothing available for adults/teens.

Mods

UI and Performance

No Festival Notification Sound by Bienchen

Visitor Notifications Mod by BraveSim – Causes a pop-up to appear when someone knocks on your door in-game. (Fixed by Bienchen.)

Minimalist CC Wrench by RheallSim – Helps keep CAS orderly by replacing the wrench with a discreet CC symbol.

Automatic Preferences by Lotharihoe – Automatically accepts any preferences your sim develops rather than making you manually choose whether or not to accept them.

No Fade on Everything by MizoreYukii – For use with Graphics Overhaul. Helps with performance. *Broken as of 3/14/2023, but is being worked on.

Graphics Overhaul by Simp4Sims – Provides a number of performance and graphics improvements.

No Random Accessories by SimplyAnjuta – Make-up and accessories don’t populate for randomly generated sims, including townies.

Expandable Catalog by TwistedMexi – Allows the build/buy catalog to expand by using the tilde key (~).

More Columns in CAS by weerbesu (5 Columns Version) – This mod allows more columns in Create-A-Sim to show on your monitor at once, so you don’t have to flip through as many pages to find what you want.

Interaction Depth

The following mods expand EA interactions to create more depth by adding custom moodlets and sentiments, or text pop-ups, to make each interaction be more involved.

Teenage Interaction Reactions by MissyHissy

My Wedding Stories Interaction Reactions: Check Out Venue Overhaul by MissyHissy

My Wedding Stories Interaction Reactions: Ask for Blessing Overhaul by MissyHissy

Gossip About Neighborhood Stories by MissyHissy

Bed Cuddle by thepancake1 and MizoreYukii * Broken as of 3/14/2023, but is being worked on.

React to Seances by Zero

Sliders

Pointed Ears for All Ages by cmar

Pointy Ears Unlocked by Khitsule

Both mods allow access to the sliders for pointed ears, regardless of occult status.

Eyebrow Slider by Miiko – Slider for eyebrow thickness.

Pouty Lip Slider by Miiko – Slider for different lip shapes.

Bug Fixes

More Discipline and More Fun Pier Rides by ADeepIndigo – This basically adds the necessary cross-pack compatibility with Parenthood and High School Years.

Toddler EP12 Puff Hair Swatch Fix by Shooby

EP12 Freckles Enabled for Toddlers and Children by Shooby

Call Off Wedding Enabled for Wedding Events by MissyHissy

Dress Normal at the Thrift Store by NateTheL0ser – Prevents the scary situational outfits that show up at the thrift store in Copperdale.

Less Intrusive Sims by Turbodriver – You know how your sim gets interrupted during dates and everything gets awkward? This helps that.

Gameplay Mods

First Impressions by Lumpinou

Hopes and Fears by MissyHissy

Auto Shorter Teens by MenaceMan44

Untamed Magic is Untamed by Zero

Improved Practical Spells by LittleMsSam

Seasons Mods

Holiday Present Fix

Mistletoe Kiss in Winter Only

No Visible Scent Effects

Storm Moodlet Tweak

Visible Weather Temperature Traits

All seasons mods are by Bienchen and are very small tweaks to how seasons work in game or are bug fixes.

Bust the Dust Mods

If you are on console, I would not recommend that you get Bust the Dust. It is not only currently broken entirely, but it’s very overpowered in an unmodded state. If you are a PC player and would like the added difficulty of chores and cleaning, I highly recommend these mods.

Less Bunny Rewards by LittleMsSam

Less Idle Animation by LittleMsSam

No Audio and Dirty Floors by LittleMsSam

Vacuum Time and Autonomy by LittleMsSam

All LittleMsSam mods can be found here.

No Clean Floor Sparkle by Lotharihoe

No Positive Buffs by Lotharihoe
